Week 4
HI! How have your Christmas holidays been? We have advance in the project so that you can enjoy the game as soon as possible.

Programming
We have updated the character’s movement so is more fluid, also the sword attack has been improved, to be more specific it’s animation and we have added a cooldown.
Now the enemies attack the nexus (aka the extractor) and if the character is near them, they will target them. Lastly the spawner code has being updated so that they appear in different points of the map.
Art
We have updated the trailer drawings. The part that our artist found the hardest was creating Myrkott, even saying that they wanted to destroy it (jokingly, obviously)

Also, the scene were the compass was created was remade several times in order to update it

Character Creation
The enemy (buff cat) retopology has being finished and the hands of some characters have been fixed, since originally were difficult to rig.
In the rigg creation there had been a lot of investigation and testing to make sure he had the best rigging possible.
The first character we started making the rigging of is the captain, making various versions so it could work better. After approving the Captain’s rigg we past making the rest (First Mate, Tank, Chef and the Rosett), we added a facial rigg to the ladder one since the rest of the character’s helmets cover their faces.
We also learned how to create UDIMS in order to make better UVs so later we would use them on Substance Painter and texture it. Every character except for the captain, who will be in the game, have UDIMs made.
With the UDIMs made we started texturing the characters. We have finished completely texturing the Tank.

Scenario Creation
We learned how to make terrains in unity to make the game’s scenario. After that, we made a prototype based on the drawing made weeks ago. We had to readjust the dimensions several times and our level designer found problems with creating ramps. But after a lot of work, we finished the prototype.

After finishing the prototype we had a brainstorming session to create a second prototype. Based on its conclusions, we started to make the second and third prototypes.
We also added details to the trailer’s scenario, optimizing and adding the basic colors to see how it looks. After that we started texturing the objects and also started illuminating the scenario.

Props
We have also done props and upgrading/fixing those that were already done.
He have made metals, gems and DNA of different alien species, also the lantern and shelves of the trailer.
